Brussels, 21/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised Spain to grant €3.1 million in regional investment aid to Alfa Lan Group. Alfa Lan S.A., is the head of a group of small and medium size enterprises which is active in several markets and whose company HQ is in Eibar, the Basque region of Guipúzcoa. The bundle of investment projects covers the period 2000-2003, costs a total of € 34.9 million and will lead to the creation of 313 new jobs and further economic development in the Basque country. The Commission has acknowledged that the aid is well below the 20% aid ceiling allowed in the Guipúzcoa region, recognised as a regionally assisted area under the Regional Aid map for the period 2000 2006.
