Council moves forward on less controversial aspects of rail liberalisation and Single Sky - Italy and Austria prepare alternatives to "ecopoints"

Luxembourg, 04/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Below is an overview of the other results of the Transport Council of 3 October:

Single Sky: The Council noted the state of work on the creation of a "Single European Sky" allowing air space to be better managed and congestion avoided. The aim is to reach a political agreement during the Council on 5 and 6 December, in compliance with the Conclusions of the Barcelona Summit.
