30/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 26 September the Danish Presidency adopted the following two declarations on the attacks on Grindhinagar (Gujarat, India): "The EU strongly condemns yesterday's attack on the Swaminarayan temple in Grindhinagar, there many innocent people were killed. The EU expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims. The EU believes that this attack should not lead to a renewed wave of violence." And the attack perpetrated in Karachi (Pakistan): "The EU deplores the senseless attack on the Adara-o-Ansaaf welfare organisation in Karachi causing the death of six people. The EU expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims. The EU believes that this attack should not lead to a renewed wave of violence. The Central and Eastern European countries associated with the EU, the associated countries Cyprus, Malta and Turkey, and the EFTA countries members of the EEA, align themselves with this declaration."
