French health safety Agency gives go-ahead to lifting embargo on British beef - Paris to give its verdict within 10 days

Brussels, 20/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The "Agence française de sécurité sanitaire des aliments" (AFSSA) gave a verdict, on Friday, in favour of lifting the embargo, imposed since March 1996 by France, on imports of beef imports from the United Kingdom. The British Government has expressed its satisfaction at the decision.
