20/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - In an interview by Reuters, the President of the European court of First Instance, Bo Vesterdorf suggested that the European Commission follows the example of the US system in which the federal government has to receive the approval of the US justice system when opposing company mergers. The European Commission would be therefore expected to transfer its competence on the subject to the European court of Justice, it explained.
