Easing of export rules for British beef

Brussels, 22/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health has voted in favour of easing the rules for the export of British beef (the Date-Based Export Scheme, DBES). The export of bovine embryos can now be taken up again and DES beef from animals between 6 and 9 months old no longer needs to be deboned (the current age limit is 6 months).
