Claude Turmes launches complaint against Commission in E.ON/Ruhrgas affair

Brussels, 22/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Luxembourg Green member Claude Turmes, rapporteur of the European Parliament on the directive relating to the liberalisation of the EU electricity market, announces in a press release that he has introduced a formal complaint against the European Commission for failing to intervene in the E.ON/Ruhrgas merger. The complaint is based on Articles 81 and 82 of the Treaty and on the 1989 EC Merger Regulation, he specifies.
