Brussels, 18/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The prime minister of Turkey, Bülent Ecevit, has promised that Turkey will surprise the European Union by getting the reforms the EU requires passed. Leader of a government without a majority, a few months ahead of early elections (see yesterday's Europe, p.6), Bülent Ecevit pledged that the last efforts of his government would be see the reforms adopted.
