New dispute over Food Authority headquarters - Byrne wants it to stay in Brussels for two or three years

Brussels, 16/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the Agriculture Council on Monday, Spain, Italy, France and Finland had a lively debate over the final location of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), taking advantage of an intervention by Commissioner David Byrne, who had suggested to the ministers that the EFSA provisionally remain in Brussels for at least two or three years in order to assess the relative merits of the candidate cities (Barcelona in Spain, Parma in Italy, Lille in France...
