(EU) Industry: Italian company IMER (turnover in 2001 EUR 132 million with staff of 590), European leader in production of machines and equipment in the construction sector, is going to create a joint-venture with the Japanese group IHI-ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA HEAVY INDUSTRIES (annual turnover equivalent to EUR 7.2 bn). The new company will be called IHMER with 51% of stock controlled by IK, the IHI subsidiary specialised in construction tools. 49% of stock will be held by IMER. The company is expected to have a turnover of EUR 63 million in its first year of activity beginning next September.
