DEUTSCHE BAHN is to bid EUR 2.5 bn (EUR 32.75 per share) for STINNES, Europe's leading cargo group, majority owned by Germany's largest utility, E.ON. The bid involves buying up E.ON's 65.4% stake and then in the first half of August, DEUTSCHE would make a takeover bid for the remainder of the company.
