Brussels, 04/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Industrial producer prices in the eurozone and in the European Union as a whole (EU15) did not change in May 2002 over the previous month according to estimates published by Eurostat on Wednesday. The biggest price increases were observed in Portugal (1.7%), while Finland (-0.4%), Belgium and France (both -0.3%) and the UK (-0.1%) registered falls. Eurostat points out that in both zones, the indices for capital goods rose by 0.1%, durable and non-durable consumer goods remained unchanged, while the energy index fell by 0.3%. Intermediate goods increased by 0.1% in the eurozone and 0.2% in EU15. In April 2002, industrial producer prices rose by 0.3% in the eurozone and 0.2% in EU15.
