24/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate, on 20 June, a decision relating to the AIEM tax regime (Arbitrio sobre las importaciones y entregas de mercanias) in the Canary Islands. With this decision, the Spanish authorities are authorised to provide, for a certain number of products manufactured in the Canary Islands, total tax exemption or AIEM tax relief until 31 December 2011.
