Death of Director Akkermans

Brussels, 19/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - Piet Akkermans, Rector of the College of Europe since 1 July 2001, died in Brugge on 17 June, aged 59. Professor in constitutional and administrative law, he had been Rector Magnificus of the University of Erasmus in Rotterdam from 1993 to 2000.
