19/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission decided to appoint Bernard Zepter to the post of Head of the Delegation in Tokyo, Japan, which comes under the Directorate General on External Relations. In May, this official of German nationality, aged 57, had been appointed to the post of adviser "hors classe" to the Secretariat General of the Commission, after having been Deputy Secretary General at the Commission and representative of the Commission with Coreper from September 1997 to February 2002. Furthermore, the Commission also decided to appoint the 42-year old Finnish national, Jaana Husu-Kallio, to the post of Deputy Director General at the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection.
