52 ACP countries have ratified Cotonou Accord but EU still dragging its feet

Brussels, 27/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - Signed almost two years ago on 23 June 2000, the Cotonou Agreement could have come into force if the European Union Member States had ratified it. In order for it to come into force, two thirds of the ACP states (51 of the 77) and the EU15 have to have ratified it. This has already been achieved by the ACP countries since 52 countries have lodged their ratification instruments, but only six of the 15 EU Member States (Denmark, the UK, Sweden, Finland,...
