Brussels, 19/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The associations of the regions are taking initiatives for taking part in the debate on the future of Europe. Thus, in particular, the Assembly of the Regions of Europe calls upon them all to give their opinions in order to prepare their participation at a hearing of the Convention in June (http://www.are-regions-europe.org ) and the European association for the elected representatives of mountainous regions publishes its opinion on governance (http://www.annot.org/aem.htm ). The Assembly of the Regions of Europe announces other events for the months to come: a conference of ministers and regional officials for culture, on 18 October in Italy; a conference of ministers and regional public health officials and social affairs in Milan on 8 November; and a conference of presidents, ministers and regional officials of spatial planning on reform of cohesion policy, on 14 and 15 November in Pecs, in Hungary.
