17/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Javier Solana visited Sarajevo on 16 and 17 April. While there, he met the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina; the EU High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch; the Special Representative for the UN Secretary General, Jacques Klein; and Ambassador Antoin MacUnfraidh, Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in the Western Balkans. On this occasion, the CFSP High Representative mainly spoke of the preparation of the EU police force that is to replace the UN International Police Task Force on 1 January 2003. On 17 April, in Pristina, Mr Solana met, notably, President Rugova, Prime Minister Rexhepi, President of the Assembly Naxhat Davi, as well as the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Michael Steiner, and the SFOR commander.
