Brussels, 17/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The President of the European Commission Romano Prodi will be visiting the Netherlands and Germany this week and giving a speech ion Thursday at the Erasmus University Rotterdam where will meet with the Dutch representatives to the Convention on the future of Europe. Due to the resignation of the Dutch government, the planned meeting with the Prime Minister , Wim Kok has been cancelled. On Friday the trip will continue to Osnabrück, Germany, where he will meet politicians, business leaders and civil society representatives from the Osnabrück district. After visiting the archaeological sites of Varusschlact where German tribesmen annihilated three Roman Legions, he will give a speech on "The Challenges of European unification policy at the start of the 21st Century".
