Parliament asks for those holding Schengen visas not to have to obtain transit visas for candidate countries

Strasbourg, 10/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has adopted, with amendments, the report by Arie Oostlandr (EPP-DE, Netherlands) on administrative co-operation for external borders, visas, asylum and immigration (ARGO Action Programme). The EP has called for this programme to support the measures taken by Member States on visas for the Schengen area so that those holding Schengen visas are not obliged to obtain transit visas for candidate countries in order to travel to the...
