10/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 10 April, Javier Solana welcomed the approval by the Parliaments in Belgrade and Podgorica by a "solid majority" of the new Constitutional arrangement agreed on 14 March by Serbia and Montenegro. Mr Solana believes this, "represents a clear mandate for the speedy implementation of the Agreement". He was also confident that, "similar progress will also be made on economic aspects of the Agreement" and, "members of the Constitutional commission will soon be designated to start working on the new Constitutional Charter". The EU will continue to support the continuation of the implementation of the Agreement, "as a decisive element in the realisation of the European perspective of Serbia and Montenegro and an important contribution towards stability in the region", concluded the CFSP High Representative.
