Brussels, 10/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Economic and Social Committee and its Spanish equivalent are organising, on 17 to 19 April in Madrid, the second meeting between the organisations of the civil society in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. On the agenda of the discussions, there will be an opinion from the European ESC on relations between the EU and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean as well as initiatives in favour of human rights, the promotion of economic and social relations, the social dimension and social rights, and strengthening of the organised civil society. The recommendations to be made after the work will be forwarded to the Heads of State and Government of the regions concerned who will meet again in May for the Madrid Summit.
