Brussels, 02/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - "La Coldiretti", chaired by Paolo Bedoni, is organising on 10 and 11 April in Brussels a conference on the enlargement of the European Union and integration of the agri-food sector. Participants will include Risto Volanen, Secretary General of COPA-COGECA, Coldiretti Secretary General Franco Pasquali, the Polish and Slovenian Secretaries of State for Agriculture, Czseslaw Siekierski and Iztok Jarc, the assistant to the Hungarian Secretary of State for Agriculture, Laszlo Vajda, the president of the Hungarian Farmers' Association, Istvan Jakab, the president of the Polish National Union of Farmers Circles and Agricultural Organisations, Wladyslav Serafin, the president of the Slovenian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry, Peter Vrisk, and Corrado Pirzio Biroli¸ Chef de Cabinet of European Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler. Discussions will be around four main themes: "the role of agriculture in the EU enlargement process", "the EU 15 and the new Member States: comparison between company and branch models", "CAP enlargement: problems and possible solutions", and the "impact of enlargement on Italian agri-food companies".
