02/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, has sent a message of condolence to Queen Elizabeth on the death of her mother. "The respect and affection that Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth The Queen Mother commanded amongst the British people and throughout the Commonwealth is a reflection of her lifelong commitment to the citizens of the United Kingdom and of the Commonwealth, declared Mr Prodi.
