Greece ratifies Treaty

Athens, 25/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - Last Wednesday, the Greek parliament ratified the Treaty of Nice by 253 votes for, 10 against (communists) and 3 abstentions (Coalition of the Left). Prime Minister Costas Simitis stressed that the treaty creates enlargement conditions and opens the road to accession by Cyprus. Furthermore, he took a stance in favour of "decentralised federation"
