Bayer planning to acquire Cropscience

Brussels, 21/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - In order to get the go-ahead from the European competition authorities, which launched an in-depth investigation into its plans to acquire Cropscience from Aventis, Germany's Bayer has pledged to sell off some of its insecticide business in order to ease the Commission's concerns about the strengthening of a dominant position in this sector.
