Brussels, 11/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to grant aid amounting to EUR 1 million to help fight a meningitis epidemic in Ethiopia. Since the last outbreak of the illness, in September 2001, there have been 1614 cases of meningitis in the southern part of the country, with 83 deaths reported.
