Guidelines for negotiations with United States - Possible that agreement will be reached on freezing assets - Discussion of Europol

Brussels, 26/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The 28 February Justice and Home Affairs Council is expected to concentrate on two very different issues - negotiating a cooperation agreement with the United States and amending the Europol Convention. The EU is expected to confirm agreement for Europol to get involved in investigation teams and may also reach agreement on how decisions to freeze assets are to be implemented.
