15/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - In a speech in Singapore, Graham Watson, President of the European Parliament Liberal Democrat group asserted that the, "If the West continues to treat Asia as a source for raw materials and a market for its goods, without concerning itself with democratic development in the region, it will unavoidably alienate Asian peoples". On his visit Mr Watson also met Chee Soon Juan a leading dissident from the Singapore Democratic Party.
