Brussels, 15/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the Community and Sao Tomé e Principe signed a new fisheries agreement which, for the first time, provides, in addition to tune fishing, for the possibility of crab fishing. This protocol, which covers a further three-year period (1 June 2002 to 31 May 2005), will enable three vessels (from Spain and Portugal) of less than 250 gross register tonnes (GRTs) to fish in deep waters (over 700 meters deep).
