Strasbourg, 11/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - By 424 to 87 with 27 abstentions, the European Parliament adopted the report by the British Liberal Democrat Baroness Sarah Ludford on the status of non-EU nationals living in the Community (see EUROPE of 2 February, p.14). The EP endorsed amendments tabled mainly by the Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL and EPP-ED modifying the Commission's text on the status of third party nationals.
Parliament is simply being consulted on the issue, but on top of the amendments...
