11/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Adopting the report by Miquel Mayol I Raynal (Verts/ALE, E) on the proposal for a regulation on the labour cost index (see EUROPE of 2 February, page 15), the EP approved the Commission's proposal and asked to be consulted again if substantial modifications were made to the text. Parliament nonetheless does not share the Commission's view that labour costs are one of the main sources of inflation.
