Brussels, 11/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Over the next five years, Chad will benefit from 202 million euro under the partnership for development between the EU and the 77 ACP countries. By jointly signing a strategy document drawn up for the country's national indicative programme, the Commission and the Chad authorities provide the green light in Djamena on Monday to the allocation of resources for the period 2002-2007, to combat poverty, for democratisation and strengthening the Rule of Law, under the 9th Edf. Since 1986, the Commission has mobilised over 530 million euro to finance the fight against poverty, towards health, rural development, macroeconomic reforms, compensation for the loss in export revenue and emergency aid in Chad.
