Poland rejects Commission's proposals over agriculture, Commissioner Fischler launches appeal to "dialogue"

Brussels, 11/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Polish Agriculture Minister Mr. Kalinovski came to Brussels on Monday to explain to the Commissioner for agriculture, Franz Fischler the reasons why the Polish Government regards as "unacceptable" the recent Commission proposals on the financing of enlargement, and notably the idea of establishing a transition period stretching to 2013 for the gradual introduction of direct aid to farmers of the future new members.
