Luxembourg, 05/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice has ruled that an advance on maintenance payments provided for in Austrian law is a family benefit and can therefore be exported to other Member States. The Court explained that in Council Regulation 1408/71 on social security for workers and their families who move within the Community, family benefits means benefits intended to meet family expenses.
