04/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - Responding to a poll on the Party of European Socialists' website (www.pes.org), 62.3% of people responding to the survey called for an official European capital to be named, against 29.9% who opposed the idea. The cities put forward as alternatives to Brussels included Prague (capital of the Czech Republic) and Thessalonika in Greece.
