The British group KINGFISHER, owner of the DIY shops B&Q and electronic COMET, is to sell its financial services subsidiary TRF - TIME RETAIL FINANCE (expected turnover for the financial year closing end-January 2002 of £77.4 million) to GE CAPITAL BANK, subsidiary of GE - GENERAL ELECTRIC, for £149 million. In exchange GE CAPITAL will provide financial services to B&Q and COMET. In addition, GE has announced that it is studying an offer to take over the small electric equipment group...
