29/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - The agreement concluded between the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Police Office (Europol) to cooperate in combating the threat of euro counterfeiting was published in the Official Journal C 23 of 25 January 2002. Acting in the framework of their respective competences, the parties agreed to consult each other regularly on the policies to be adopted and implemented concerning questions of common interest, the aim being to coordinate their activities and avoid duplication. The agreement covers: - information exchange; - access to the database of the surveillance system granted to Europol by the ECG; - and requests for assistance and technical analysis.
