29/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the EU Council of Ministers formally adopted by qualified majority (with Luxembourg voting against) its common position of 6 December last relating to the proposal of directive on the processing of personal data and the protection of private life in the electronic communications sector (see EUROPE of 7 December 2001, p.9).
