Speaking through its president, Umberto Quadrino, the Italian group EDISON, controlled by FIAT and EDF, is to sell its subsidiaries and non-strategic shareholdings by the end of the year. It will only keep its energy holdings. The sale will allow the group's indebtedness to be reduced to EUR 7 billion as opposed to 13 billion at the present time.
