Jo Leinen says Mr Euro should be a Commission Vice-President

Brussels, 08/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - Jo Leinen (German Social Democrat MEP), co-rapporteur at the European Parliament on the future of Europe, insisted the "European currency needs a European government". He added that the Convention that will prepare for the next IGC should also discuss a strengthening of the European Economic and Social policy and a reform of the Eurogroup and the European Central Bank. Jo Leinen said that ""Mr Euro" has to be a vice-president of the European Commission...
