Brussels, 10/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending EUR 35 million for the construction of high voltage power transmission lines in the South and the West of Namibia. The loan will help finance extension of Namibia's electrical network through the construction of two lines: one to the new Skorpion zinc mine in the southwest of the country, and the other to meet growing demand in the Walvis Bay area on the West Coast.
