29/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The new Danish Prime Minister, the Liberal Anders Fogh Rasmussen, assured on Wednesday the President of the European Council Guy Verhofstadt that his government was "strongly attached to human rights" and that he wanted to improve the integration policy for immigrants (in Denmark, half the immigrants are unemployed), he said. As for Mr Verhofstadt, he indicated, when answering a question that he did not see any similarity between the present Danish situation and that in Austria after the entry of the FPO to the government. I have worked a great deal with Mr Rassmussen within the European Liberal Party, and he always showed himself ready to contribute towards European integration, asserted the Belgian Prime Minister.
