EUR 50 million for new hospital in Nicosia

Luxembourg, 28/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a loan of EUR 50 million to Cyprus for the construction and equipment of the new hospital in Nicosia. This is the first EIB loan to the health sector in a country applying for EU membership. The project, to be carried out by the Ministry of Health, consists of relocating the present hospital to a site situated in the south-eastern part of Nicosia.
