After vote at first reading, Parliament insists on pressure exerted on most financial perspective headings, and calls on Commission for report, before second reading, on external actions after 11 September

Brussels, 05/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - Commenting on the results of the vote in first reading of the draft budget 2002 by the European Parliament (see EUROPE of 26 October, p.13), Chairman of the Budgets Committee Terence Wynn (British Labour member) recalled that the EP's final position during second reading should above all take into account other proposals concerning agriculture and the conversion of the Spanish fishing fleet.
