First loan in favour of Croatia's private sector

Brussels, 23/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced its decision to grant a loan of EUR 20 million to the HVB Bank Croatia (HVB Croatia), the subsidiary of Bank Austria AG, Vienna (BA), for financing in the industrial, services and infrastructure sectors of small and medium-sized investments proposed by public and private promoters. This is the first EIB loan to the private sector in Croatia.
