Commission clears sale of Henkel's Cognis to Schroder Ventures and Goldman Sachs

Brussels, 23/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of speciality chemicals company Cognis by the UK venture capital group Schroder Ventures and global investment bank Goldman Sachs. Cognis is currently owned by German chemicals company Henkel. The only overlap in the transaction is in the leather chemicals sector where Cognis and TFL, a German company controlled by Schroder Ventures, are both present.
