23/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised emergency aid, on Tuesday, in favour of British airline companies in order to attenuate the impact of the 11 September terrorist attacks. Without such aid during one month, aircraft would have been forced to remain grounded from 24 September, states a press release, recalling that the Commission will adopt other decisions in coming days on the compatibility of similar aid notified by other Member States.
