Philips is authorised to acquire Marconi Medical Systems

Brussels, 18/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the planned takeover of Marconi's medical imaging equipment division (MMS) by the multinational Philips Electronics NV, based in the Netherlands and specialised in consumer electronic products. The Commission noted there was an overlap of activities in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, nuclear medicine (NM) systems and computed tomography (CT) systems.
