Parliament supports EU's innovation policy

Strasbourg, 04/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - Adopting the report by Paul Rübig (EPP-ED, Austria) on Wednesday by 499 to 10 with 12 abstentions, MEPs supported the Commission's innovation-oriented research initiatives. Comparing with the situation in the United States and Japan, MEPs felt that more needed to be done to remove the many obstacles to spreading and promoting innovation in Europe.
